Write PowerShell script for mapping the values of 1 excel file to another Excel File

Hi, I have an Input Excel File and an Input Template Excel File. I need to map the values of the Input Excel File to the Input Template Excel File. I need to write PowerShell query for it and I should run them in Power Automate Desktop using Run PowerShell Script action.

Book1.xlsx is my Input File

Template.xlsx is my Template file

Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

Are Excel VBA or VB Script not an option? Just asking cuz it would be simpler.

if not, GPT could make quick use of a powershell script. Should be able to upload both documents, explain what you need, and get a 95-100% accurate script. If you don’t have GPT plus, you’ll just have to explain exactly what you need done. The new copilot preview might work also.

I have added placeholders in the Input Template. Now I need to generate them using XML. How to do that?

Sorry, I don't work in XML and rarely work in PowerShell. I extensively work in VBA or we could even do it directly in PAD, but it would be slower. VBA would handle this very quickly.

If you need to stick with PowerShell or XML because of limitations to your project or organization, then we can continue troubleshooting those options, but if you are not limited, and can use VBA, then I highly recommend that option as 1) it is native to Excel and 2) PAD can run the macro once it is built.
