Post to Viva Engage with attachment and change type of post

We have a Department that wants to automatically post Announcements to a Viva Engage Community with an attachment.

If we use the Viva Engage Connector we can post as an Announcement, but can't include the attachment.

If we send an email to the Community and include the attachment, you can't set it to be an Announcement.

Any thoughts on how to post to the community with attachment and set it to be an Announcement?

    Hi @ShaneMeisnerTH,

    You could for example use the messages.json endpoint of the Yammer API. In that request you can use the og_url parameter to refer to an uploaded attachment (assuming you have a Viva Engage/Yammer GROUP connected to Office 365).

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/yammer/messages-json-post

    Below is an example

    This sample does require an access token. I have written a blog post about this approach: https://www.expiscornovus.com/2021/02/09/how-to-interact-with-the-yammer-rest-api/

    {
     "body": "Testing with Power Automate",
     "og_url": "@{variables('FileUrl')}",
     "group_id": "@{variables('VivaEngageGroupId')}",
     "message_type": "announcement"
    }

    This is the result
