Record Username of record creator

I am creating records in Dataverse from my Portal . The user creating the record is logged in to the portal, yet Dataverse lists SYSTEM in the Created By column for these records. Is there a way to have the username of the logged in user listed in this field? Or if not, can I capture this information automatically into another field?
