Dataflow and Canvas app

If I understand correctly, it is not currently possible to use a Power BI Dataflow or a PowerBI dataset directly in either a model driven or Canvas app.

We currently have a PowerBI Dataflow that pulls data from an accounting system. We then use this data for various purposes. We would like to get at this information through a Canvas app, but we are trying to figure out how we might accomplish this. The Canvas app would pull from multiple Dataverse tables. My thought was to create a Dataverse table that mimics the Dataflow table structure, then add a trigger to update rows in the Dataverse table whenever there is some change in the Dataflow table. We do not need to update the Dataflow table from the Canvas app, it is only for lookup information.

Does anyone know of a better way to accomplish this, or would my idea be the best approach?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Create a Dataverse Table: Mimic the structure of your Dataflow table in Dataverse, setting up the necessary columns to hold all the information you'll be pulling from the Dataflow.

Set Up Data Sync: Use Power Automate (if available) to create a flow that triggers on a schedule to pull data from your Dataflow and update the Dataverse table accordingly. If the Dataflow doesn't directly expose an endpoint, you might need to export the data to a place that Power Automate can access, like a CSV in a OneDrive or SharePoint, and then use that to update Dataverse.

Kindly mark the solution as accepted if it resolves your issue.

Read-Only Canvas App: Design your Canvas app to read from the Dataverse table. You won't need to set up any write-back functionality since you've mentioned the app is only for lookup purposes.
