what does 5000 AI builder service credits mean

Per user plan with attended RPA license includes 5000 AI builder service credits per month.

Assume that each invoice has only 1 page. How many invoices can it process?

If I have 1000 invoices to handle each month, does it enough?

If somehow I have invoices more than this license's limit, what can I do to enure all invoices can be process?

Hi @JoeAu ,

There doesn't seem to be much info around as to what the cost is per action.

However, there is a consumption report which you could use to benchmark during development. I myself use Azure Cognitive Services which has a much clear pricing model per page. Behind the scenes, it is pretty much the same thing and there are also connectors in power automate. Also an option.

AI builder licensing costs are very vague. The best place to find out more is to refer to the AI builder calculator.

To give a rough estimate, an 'AI builder add-on unit' provides 1 million service credits. Processing 3,000 invoices requires 2 add-on units (2 million service credits @ $1000). On this basis, 5,000 credits would allow you to process around 15 invoices.

This would be broadly consistent with the description in Microsoft's guide, which is that 5000 credits would allow you to use forms processing to process a 'few' documents.

To process 1,000 invoices, you'd be looking at buying an add-on unit for $500/month.

So I built this template that processes any document just using the less expensive image recognition AI Builder service & GPT.

It seems much less expensive with a much lower barrier to entry only requiring a premium Power Automate license with 5000 AI Builder credits per month & some on-going LLM / GPT costs…

If I’m looking at this right, this method should cost

Image recognition +.0017

GPT prompt & output +.007

Flow actions +.00375

So about $ .013 per page.

Less expensive than any of the other microsoft document/receipt/invoice processing options. And several of those take about 30 seconds to run.
And the 5000 AI Builder credits that come with the now $15 premium Power Automate license is enough for 1500 Image recognition pages. So you could probably process 500-750 documents per month with just 1 premium Power Automate license.

So it seems this method is faster, less expensive, easier to adjust, & requires less set-up than other standard AI builder set-ups.

Once the GPT actions are in general availability, I don’t know why I’d use any of the other services. 🤷‍

Ques 1 : 500-750 documents? Is it same when using the AI Model document type as documents processing?
Ques 2 : 500-750 documents? 500 document of multiple pages or 1 document equals 1 page?

It is not the same using the AI Document Processing options. Those use a lot more credits than the recognize text in image or PDF action.

The 500 to 750 number I stated assumes each document you process has 2-3 relevant pages you want to send to the GPT prompt.

it costs 100 credits to process one document it's a right con they dupe you into setting it up and then sting you with the costs afterwards. You can get 5000 credits that allows you to process around 50 documents. This one license is £12.50 per month so if you don't have many documents to process you can get a few of these:
