Date Picker Value property always blank when used in Flexible Height Gallery (Model-Driven App Custom Page)

As the subject details, when building in a Model-Driven App Custom Page, each Date Picker control I've attempted to use - both the current "Classic" and the preview "Modern" versions - fails to properly store anything, preventing other Controls or Variables from reading DatePicker.Value, when used within a Flexible Height Gallery.

Assigning anything to the control's Value property will force the control to always revert to date referenced in the Value property.
The controls will work as intended outside of a Flexible Height Gallery, including within a regular Vertical Gallery, however, and an example is provided below. This feels like a bug where the Date Picker's Value property is wired solely to be a "DefaultDate" and is not flexible enough (pardon the pun) to also be the "SelectedDate" property as is probably intended when used within a Flexible Height Gallery.

I've toggled on and off the "Try out the modern controls" setting to see if that had any effect, as well as virtually every other toggle under the "Settings > Upcoming features > Preview" section, to no avail.

Please let me know if someone's found a way to make this control work as intended within Flexible Height Galleries in Custom Pages.

    @BCAppDevSupport

    You can set it to DatePicker2 and it should work fine. I have used the same gallery as you and have used the same template and controls.

    It is working fine when I set mine to just DatePicker1.

    Hey, @narayan225!

    Thanks for reply, but are you building this in a canvas app or a custom page for a model-driven app? They function differently, and the solution you provided does not work for me within the custom page that I'm trying to put together. It does, however, work in a canvas app.

    @BCAppDevSupport

    It still works when I use DatePicker2.Value in my case. What is in the Value property of the DatePicker control?

    Hope this helps.

    In the Value property of DatePicker2 is Today(), which prevents the Date Picker from actually picking anything. Clicking on a date in the Date Picker simply reverts the control to Today(), in this case 8/8/2023. DatePicker2 is in a Flexible Height Gallery, on a Custom Page (not Canvas App), and does not work.

    DatePicker1 has its Value property also set to Today(), yet will function as a Date Picker should, allowing me to choose any date I want, and have that date exposed to other controls and variables. DatePicker1 is in a Vertical Gallery, not flexible, in the same Custom Page as DatePicker2.

    Hello,

    Do you want to show the value of the Datepicker in a textbox of the same item in the gallery?

    I think than you will get a problem, as there will be a datepicker2 in each item of the gallery.

    Hi @SLMR, and thanks for stopping by!

    Strictly speaking, no, I don't care about showing DatePicker2.Value in a label within the same gallery, but it's in the screenshot examples to provide visual evidence of the issue. That being said, I do want to have a single Date Picker control be utilized in multiple records within the same gallery, and have each instance of it correctly tie its input value to each record independently. This is possible in the non-flexible gallery, but is not possible (for me, at least) in the flexible gallery in a Page.

    And just for further clarification, this is not for a Canvas App: this functionality does seem to work in a Canvas App, strangely enough.

    Ok i run into the same problem.

    Custom pages in modell driven apps are driving me mad.

    A work-around could be to update an collection, on the onchange-event of the datepicker and display the value of the collection.

    But i think that is not the way you want this to work.

    So i hope you find an better solutiuon

    @BCAppDevSupport

    I am also using custom page in a model driven app. And even if I put Today() in the value property of the date picker, it still shows the label with whatever is in the datepicker control.  I am also using newsfeed gallery template of flexible height gallery.

    It is working fine with no issue.

    Cheers!

    @narayan225 - If it's working for you, let's try to dig further into the settings and controls being used to see if I can replicate your success, because it still won't work for me under my current setup.

    Could you please provide screenshots of the Settings > General and Settings > Upcoming features (Preview, Experimental, and Retired, if possible), as well as denote the Authoring version listed in Settings > Support? Secondly, could you confirm whether you're using the Classic or Modern Date Picker, send a breakdown/screenshot of all its properties, and also list what type of Label or Text control (Classic or Modern) you're using in the Gallery, and denote its properties as well? Finally, could you provide the properties of the Flexible Height Control you're using?

    If that setup is good enough for you, I hope it'll be good enough for me. Thanks so much!
