Hi There,

We are currently working on synchronizing folders and files between two SharePoint sites using Power Automate Flows. As part of this effort, we are utilizing the trigger of the Power Automate "When a file is created or modified (properties only)".

While this trigger functions correctly in the following scenarios:

  • When a file is created or renamed
  • When a folder is created

We have encountered an issue when a folder is renamed. In this case, the trigger is not being activated,

We would appreciate any insights or alternative approaches that could help us detect folder rename in Power Automate.

Probably use periodic comparison (“Polling” Solution) if use power automate.
    • Set up a scheduled Flow (e.g., every 30 minutes).
    • List all folders in the library and store their paths/names in a tracking list (e.g., SharePoint List or Dataverse table).
    • On each run, compare the current folder structure to the previous run. If a folder path/name has changed, you’ve detected a rename

Do we have any other approaches using any other Microsoft tools?
