How to automate the sharepoint calendar if that week is fully booked

Hi all,

I hope you can help me; I am new to power apps, power automate. I am working as an admin, and I am trying to suggest to my boss to create a leave approval system to make it easier for everyone. Is it better to use MS forms then power automate, or power apps and power automate?

Important additional question as well if you can give me an idea of how I can create a flow of when the employee sends a leave request, and that week is oversubscribed already will prompt them to book to another week something like that. Like the week can accommodate a maximum of 6-8 leaves only it doesn't matter if there is double booking on a particular day.

Thank you so much!

Both MS Forms with Power Automate and Power Apps with Power Automate are viable options for creating a leave approval system, but the best choice depends on your specific requirements and preferences.

Using MS Forms with Power Automate:

    • MS Forms provides a simple and intuitive interface for creating leave request forms.
    • Power Automate can be used to automate the workflow of processing leave requests submitted through MS Forms, including sending notifications to approvers, updating records, and handling approval/rejection responses.

Using Power Apps with Power Automate:

    • Power Apps allows for more customization and flexibility in designing the leave request interface, potentially providing a more tailored user experience.
    • Power Automate can still be used to automate the workflow behind the scenes, similar to the MS Forms approach.

I suggest you start with a simple requirement such as just creating a leave system without any business rules. Once you get that running you can add validations like the one you provided. Once you have the basic structure ready, I will be able to advise better.
