Hello! I have a team member and an executive experiencing where they are receiving the approval request via outlook exchange for mac and when they hit the Approve button it takes them to the approval center. This seems to be the same when accessing the approval email from an iphone. Is there any way around this? I do not want this happen (neither do they). It seems it causes confusion and extra steps. How can I get the Approval button from within their email to work without the additional browser and steps using an Apple Mac and iphone?
Below is a snapshot of what they see/experience. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Email received via outlook exchange in mac.
When they click Approve, it takes them to the power automate web browser where they see the requests. I feel that this is a duplicate step and unnecessary. They should be able to click Approve from their email and the request is marked approved from there. Is there some type of setting that we are missing?
Ideally, this should be a user friendly similar to the Windows setup where you get the email via Outlook email, click Approve and it updates.
@tom_riha I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this. I had the user try the Outlook web version. It still takes them to Safari and to the us flow approval center (screenshot below) and does not permit them to approve directly via the email. I guess at this point this option does not exist for Mac users. Thank you for your feedback.
Maybe a UserVoice item?
Hello @knandez05 ,
as a Mac user I was also hoping for some solution in this thread, but I guess there isn't any, Outlook for Mac doesn't support the adaptive cards. The only way to approve directly from an email on Mac seems to be to use the Outlook Online app.
@PrasadAthalye The user has Outlook for Mac and is using the latest version and is still getting a new window via Safari to us.flow.microsoft to approve the request instead of being able to approve via email. This is an extra step in the process. We would like them to just approve from within the email. Any help/feedback is much appreciated.
@PrasadAthalye I confirmed and they do have Outlook for Mac however, the us.flow.microsoft.com site keeps triggering when they hit the Approve button via the email. Is there a setting or maybe upgrade that they may be missing?
Yes, it seems that they have Outlook for Mac. See below.
Also, any idea how to update the format of how the time comes across on the approval email? Below is shows 2021-02-01T19:09:45Z - Would like to show 12hr time format Eastern time.
Date created time seems to also be off when it was submitted. How can I get it to show the Eastern time zone?
@PrasadAthalye I just tried the Outlook App on iphone and it works as it should. How can we get this to work in the same way on a MAC computer?
Are you using Outlook App on iPhone?
