Planner Flow, no Powerapp: Could not retrieve values. Insufficient privileges to complete the operation

I try to use Flows to create a list of Planner tasks.

I am not using PowerApps, I just want to trigger the flow manually from the portal from time to time.

When I use a predefined flow template (i.e. "Post messages to Microsoft Teams when a new task is created in Planner"), I can select the "Plan Id" in the Flow GUI. It will show all my available plans.

When I create a new flow and not use any template, selecting Planner and then "List tasks", I am asked for the "Group Id" and the "Plan Id". However, now the pulldown menu is not populated with my existing Plans.

Instead I get "Could not retrieve values. Insufficient privileges to complete the operation".

Do I miss something here?

How do I teach Planner or Flows to find the Group Id's and the Plan Id's?

Thanks

Dan

    Hi @DanHu

The lists tasks action only lists the tasks for a particular group

I believe it only lists the plans where you are the group/team owner

I am the owner/creator of all plans..

Other example below: Left side, I use a template, right side I try to recreate the same template from scratch..

    Hi @DanHu ,

If you use the trigger "When a new task is created" created by yourself, but can't extract the Group Id and Plan Id, you can input them manually. Please have a reference as below:Annotation 2019-08-07 170316.png

By the way, you can get the Group Id and Plan Id through entering plan task board, and get them in the link:Annotation 2019-08-07 171011.png

While manually looking for a Plan Id and a Group Id is a workaround, the dropdowns should, in my opinion, show Group Id values automatically. I'm also struggling with these new Planner triggers.

    @v-litu-msft , thanks, that helped.

Yet, I agree with @anttipajunen . The dropdowns should show the Group Id's and the available Plan Id's.

@v-litu-msft, what you pointed out is a good workaround. But can you confirm that the dropdowns should work? And can you point us to a final solution that works as expected (without having to use yor workaround)?

    Or is this a bug?

    Thanks

    Dan

    Hi @DanHu  @anttipajunen  @v-litu-msft

The dropdowns do work in 1 of my tenants but not in the other

Has to be some sort of bug

What is strange: When I use one of the templates, the dropdown always works.

When I create a flow from scratch, the dropdown never works.

    Can you confirm?

I am also seeing this issue.

If i manually create a flow to create a planner task on a recurring monthly basis i cannot automatically populate the Group ID or Plan ID.

When i try to do the same thing using a template flow, both of these dropdowns populate automatically.

Is there some kind of weird permissions thing or can it just not connect to the Office 365 groups correctly?

@ATPolar thanks for confirming the same issue.

I'm hoping that @v-litu-msft could help with an explanation.

    I have same problem.
I think that this problem occurs at sign-in as Company Administrator.

    Is this new limitations?
