Missing Project (Preview) Connector for Planner Premium Automation

Hello,

I am writing to report an issue with our development environment regarding the integration of our “Planner Premium” solution (i.e., Project for the Web) with Power Automate. My goal is to automatically create tasks in our premium planner solution from SharePoint data using Power Automate, and we have chosen to use the official Microsoft Project connector (“Project (Preview)”) as it is the simplest method.

I am experiencing an issue in my development environment where I am unable to see the official Microsoft Project (Preview) connector (i.e., the “Project for the Web” connector) in Power Automate, even though I have installed Microsoft Project Service Core.

Environment and Licensing Details:

Tenant: Our environment is within the TCCI tenant.

Development Environment: I am testing in “Sakthi’s Environment” (a full Dataverse environment, not Dataverse for Teams).

Licenses: My account is assigned “Planner and Project Plan 3.” I have verified this in my account details, so licensing should cover Project for the Web.

Installed Solution: Microsoft Project Service Core is installed and visible in the Solutions area in our environment.

User Role: I have Environment Maker rights.

Issue Description:
In Power Automate, after signing in to “Sakthi’s Environment,” I attempt to add a new step in my flow. When I search in the Actions tab for “Project,” “Project for the Web,” or “Project (Preview),” I do not see the official Microsoft Project connector. Instead, I only see:
  • The older Project Online connector.

  • An independent third-party connector (e.g., Doppler Farhan Latif’s connector).

  • I have tried standard troubleshooting steps:

    • Signing out and back in (including using an incognito browser).

    • Clearing my browser cache.

    • Confirming that I am in a full Dataverse environment (verified via the Power Platform Admin Center).

    • Creating a new project at project.microsoft.com while in my dev environment to trigger provisioning (but this did not result in the connector appearing).

  • I have also attempted to use the Dataverse “Perform an unbound action” option to locate action such as “CreateProjectTask” or “UpdateProjectTask,” but none of these actions are visible.

Impact:

Without the official Project (Preview) connector, I cannot create automated tasks for our “Planner Premium” (which is powered by Project for the Web) via Power Automate in our dev environment. This limitation is blocking our ability to automate our work order process.

Request:

Please assist with one or more of the following:

  1. Verify that our environment is correctly provisioned for Microsoft Project for the Web and that all necessary components, including the official Project connector, are enabled.

  2. Provide guidance or instructions to resolve any hidden configuration or licensing issues that might be preventing the connector from appearing.

  3. Confirm if any additional solution (e.g., Project Operations or an updated Project for the Web component) must be installed to expose the “Create a task” functionality in Power Automate

  4.

Thank you for your support and assistance. I look forward to your guidance on resolving this issue.

You should probably log this with Microsoft support rather than here
