Collecting employees in department to populate people picker combobox or filter combobox on department number+4x team numbers?

Hello!

I'm hoping anyone can help me with this, I'm in a company of roughly 50.000 employees and I'm currently using a people picker combobox within my gallery to update a Person column in a sharepoint list. This works reasonably well but I would if possible want to filter this list down to the specific department and underlying teams (which there are 4)

As far as google could tell me it seems impossible to actually filter the combobox down to Director + Director direct reports (which is a combination of specialists and managers) + the direct reports of the team managers direct reports (the team managers are part of the teams they run when checking their .Department value)

If this is possible please let me know 🙂

My alternate solution was to somehow on app start collect the Directors direct reports, collect the next layer of direct reports and then merge these two collections (would I need to remove duplicates?)

Anyway if any of this is possible any help would be greatly appreciated

Assuming all users are in the same datasource...

You could use ClearCollect on your top level (directors?) followed by collect on the lower levels.

You'd need to be careful where you put your formula to ensure that it resets at the appropriate points, but in theory this would work
