Reset environment experience for Dynamics CDS vs. Core CDS

Curious to hear others experience with how they are managing environments.

The scenario is development of a Power Platform solution that does not require Dynamics CDS components, however, need to validate in an environment with Dynamics CDS.

Development happens in a production Core CDS environment - DEV
Deploy to another production/sandbox environment to validate - TEST

I would like the ability to switch TEST to SANDBOX and then reset with the option of either Dynamics or Core CDS, but it doesn't appear possible. Piror to the reset function being available in the Power Platform admin center, TEST was reset using the Dynamics admin portal and became a Dynamics CDS environment with no way of going back.

(assume use of Trial environment for short-term validation needs)

Anyone manaing this elegantly?

Hi @Helpful ,

Do you want to manage version of CDS and restore it to the last version?

Firstly, log in the admin center:

https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/environments

Then, choose the environment that you want to manage.

Then, choose backup.

You could choose the version that you want to restore.

I hadn't thought about that approach. I may not be able to test it for a bit, but it seems like a reasonable workaround until there is improved control for environment resets.
