Expand Gallery On Top Of Data Table

I'm trying to create a navigation menu that is hidden until you push a button in the header. That expands Vertical Container with gallery and buttons over the top of the Data Table.

Problem is that the gallery is behind the Data Table. This means I can't click on buttons the navigation gallery.

I have tried to reorder the Data Table either backward. But when I do that I can't ever see my data table.

I think an image of what you are trying to do on the page might help.  It sounds like you could just try changing from white to transparent and then you would be able to see through the control (gallery or container).  It also sounds like you could just arrange things so they don't overlap.  I often have my navigation menu located above (not on top of) elements on the page.  I hope that gives you some ideas to try.

Here are two pictures. One with the menu closed and one with it open. The one that is open you can see that the buttons are behind the Data Table. Preventing someone from clicking on the buttons. I thought the simple solution was to move the Data Table backwards. But when I do that it completely disappears which I don't quite understand why.

    Thanks for the assistance.

That helps clarify what you are doing.  It looks like you should have another container for your overlay menu.  That would keep each element (table container, menu container, and header container) stored together so you can layer things the way you want them.  This also makes some other options easier.  For example, the container containing the table could also shrink in size so that it isn't covered at all whenever the menu is expanded.  I hope that helps.

That sounds like exactly what I need. However it doesn't seem to allow me to add a Data Table to a container. I created a new page and Data Table to confirm it wasn't something that I did with this page. But it wouldn't work. I have looked up some other information that says it's not possible either.  Is there another way that I could accomplish the same thing?

You can add a table to a container, but the approach is a little different than most objects.  First create a container.  Then create a label inside of the container.  Select the label and then insert a table.  That is the approach for a few objects and works for the table. Good luck!

ll try that. For now I added a menu to the header and it's working well thanks.
