Power Automate Approval Notifications

Hello,

Question about approval notifications, currently when I setup an approval the recipients get notifications via email and via Teams. Is there a way to change this so the approval only sends either Teams or email notifications. I have a frustrated user who doesn't appreciate receiving double notifications.

Many Thanks

Jo-Anne

    @JoAnneCharlotte

    You can disable email notification from the action by setting below highlighted value to No.

    The teams notification can be disabled for all users at tenant level as shown here -

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/approval-admin#disable-the-approvals-app

    Or even users can disable it individually by going in teams - settings - approvals - turning off notifications.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

    I have exactly the same requirement @JoAnneCharlotte and although the reply above is useful, it doesn't fully answer. How do you control which of either Teams and/or email approval action is sent? It's got to be something in the Custom value option in that dropdown. Anyone else able to help?

    I've been looking for the same solution and have found the following;

    Use Power Automate Approvals with Teams notifications - POWER GI

    not sure if it works yet, though.

    Hi. Thank you for sharing. I have just tried to use this method, which is to first "turn off the notification", then add another card to notify the recipient at teams, however, it won't work, because the second card cannot surpass the first one, which means the second card has to wait till the recipient makes a response to approval, then it will send the notification. It is very frustrating and let's wait for another workable method or Microsoft power automate product to update the function.

    Hi.

    I would recommend the option to turn off notifications directly in the Teams. So everyone can set up notifications in Teams as they like.

    Procedure: Open Teams -> Settings -> Notifications and aktivity -> below you will find Apps and adjust notification settings for Approvals.
