997 Super User 2024 Season 1

Hi, I'm trying to subtract the leave balance from who requested the leave. The flow I created manages to subtract the leave balance based on leave type but it subtracts all balance that leave type has, doesn't matter who. I want to update the column that only the requester from the Leave Request list that makes the request. How to just update one column?

the only field I want to be updated based on who made the request

Why do you need Get Items from Leave Request List don't you already have that information from the Trigger When an Item is Created or Modified?

Do you have a person column and how do you filter by that particular person?

@365-Assist I have a person column, it's in the Leave Request list. I tried this way but doesn't work.
I filter the name and use Apply to Each for the value but still, it subtracts all rows.

the flow runs successfully and the output of the Update Item only appears the person who made the request. But in the Leave Balance list, it still subtracts all rows.

Can you show more of the Leave Balance List? Do you have a record in that list for each user? How is the user recorded in that list?

This is the Leave Balance list
The Leave Balance list is updated once new employees are added to Employee list with their number of leave balance

So to update just the one field in the one record you need to filter the get items on that list using the employee name and year from the information return by the trigger. That will leave you with an array that has only one record in it. Since its an array it will still use an apply to each, but then you just update that one record because that is all that's left in the array. You can filter the list either using an Odata query or a filter array.
