Create landing Page for Model Driven App?

Hi,

Are there any good ideas out there for creating a landing page of a model driven app? I would like the landing page to contain icons which link to the different "pages" in my app. Maybe even add some basic information in a small part of the landing page as well. Doable?

Yes, this is doable.

The way to approach this is to create a dashboard. You can create an HTML file that includes the icons and web links, and you can embed that into your app as a web resource.

You can embed other basic information, including charts, lists, and other external web resources using iframes. You can find out more details here.

No! A dashboard is not the way to do it. M$ should make the landing page configurable for a model driven app. we dont need or use dashboards. This is too much to ask for though

@urklnme - Please note that the post that you replied to is more than 3 years old. With model driven apps, it's now possible to add canvas pages and this would provide a simple way to add a landing page with icons and links.

so instead of allowing the user to pick an exiting view/form, one must learn another new technology canvas, create a page and then however it is to inject it into a model-driven app?

baloney! just make it a configurable item. Microsoft never learns. they create a great technology that like many of their others picks you to death with what they won't do.

yes, you are correct. i will try to not do that in the future. I def have a love/hate relationship with M$.
