Using Shared MS Form to auto-populate a Word that is Saved on a SharePoint site and then Send an Email with the Auto-Populated Word doc as an Attachment

Hi,

I'm currently trying to complete the flow below to send an email attachment of an auto-populated Word doc using MS Forms.

Unfortunately, when trying to open the file attachment, the two pop-ups below appear and the file can't be opened. As the second image states, the issue may pertain to permissions associated with the SharePoint site. But I want to avoid having to add users to the SharePoint site. I already tried the following guide, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/community/power-automate-send-sharepoint-files-as-attachments. I tried adding the "For a selected file" trigger after the "Create file" step in my flow above but received the following message, "You cannot use this trigger as an action." (@JimmyHang, @Sympmarc, @daisyfell, @JoanneHendrickson)

Is there any step(s) and/or triggers I can add to my flow above that will allow a user access to the Word file attachment without adding them to the SharePoint site?

Appreciate the assistance!

    Hi @calpam

One question, why you are using add attachment here, as your requirement is to attach the document to mail not to a list item right. Add Attachment is used for attaching file to a list item.

In your case, you have to use get file content and then use it in the send email attachment section like below

    Hope this helps 🙂

    Hi @Nived_Nambiar,

I appreciate the reply. Apologies for the delay in my reply.

I need the file to be attached in an email but also stored within a SharePoint site that will be accessed & maintained by a group of users. This is why my flow is set to include such steps.

I added the steps you provided to the flow I shared above, but I'm not able to add the Shared Documents folder as the File Identifier within the Get file content step (see screenshot).

    Again, appreciate the assistance!

    Hi @Nived_Nambiar,

I can confirm that adding the Get file content step helped resolve my question, but I had to revise the attachments content to be the body of the Word doc as the dynamic content and not the SharePoint File Content for it to work for the flow I setup (see screenshot). Thanks again for sharing the solution!
