I am currently building a Model Driven App that most users will access without a Power Apps Plan license. I understand users should be able to access with the Dataverse license included with standard E3 and E5 licenses assigned to them. I was hoping someone could let me know if there is a limit to the number of custom tables I can include in the app without users needing a license as I cant find any Microsoft Documentation surrounding this.

The E3 and E5 plans do not include Dataverse license. With these plans, each user will also require a per app or per user license. With the correct licenses, there is no practical limit to the number of custom tables you can add to an app.

Hi @timl, Thanks for the response! This is a project management app built on top of the Microsoft project Accelerator. We already have some users with access to the app without Power Apps Licenses.I saw in the app that there was a limit of 5 custom entities in the Site Map but wanted to know if there was any limit to the number of custom entities in the app or solution as we currently have more than 5 custom entities within our solution.

Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with Microsoft Project Accelerator, although I am slightly surprised that it provides access to Dataverse without any additional licensing.
Perhaps one of the others can comment further on this - maybe @Pstork1?
There should be no particular limit to the number of custom tables you can create. But I agree with @timl that this does require more than an Office license. The fact that user's can access it without being prompted for licensing is not a guarantee that those licenses are not legally required. Here's a listing of prerequisites from the documentation. It clearly calls for a license to access the Common Data Service.

Those prerequisites are for deploying the Project Accelerator not for being able to access as a user. Thanks for clarifying that there is no custom limit.Our users access the Accelerator App (Which we have extended) using the PowerApps Plan licences in E3 and E5 Licences. Standard Users have Office Issued Project Licences which they can view projects and MS have on the RoadMap they can now edit certain fields in tasks assigned to them.Then we have Project Plan 3 Licences for other users.So far in UAT testing we don't have any issues with users reading or writing to the custom Dataverse Tables in our solution.. For example we have created a Lessons Learned Table which we have added to the project form.We noticed we received a custom entity limit error for users when there was 5+ custom entity in our Apps Site Map - But once we removed them from the site map and just kept them solution it worked fine.So just wanted to confirm that there isn't a limit on the amount of custom entities in the solution which would mean users need powerapps per user or app licences?
If you are adding custom Dataverse tables to the app then you are adding a Premium component that requires Premium licensing. I would have a discussion with your Microsoft rep about whether you are covered by your current licensing. As far as I know you are not. Make sure you get the clarification from the Microsoft rep in writing or you may have an ugly Suprise coming at some point in the future.

Hi @JoeWat777 . I'm extending the functionalities of project for the web using power apps. I saw that you mentioned there is a limitation in the number of custom tables the customers can create without paying for a license. Could you tell me where you saw this? I can't find it in the documentations?
