Removed An Unused Column In SharePoint, Now PowerApp Giving Errors

Hello, I have a working PowerApp that gets it's data from SharePoint lists.  I recently removed a couple columns in the lists that are not used by the PowerApp.  When I play the app, it works just fine.  ...But when I edit it I get all sorts of errors, many of which are "Incompatible type" -

For example, "Incompatible type. We can't evaluate your formula because the context variable types are incompatible with the types of values in other places in your app"

It asks me if I want to save and reload because "Some variables and collection have been reset"

I save and reload.  Then it opens back up and then it gives me the same prompt again.  It appears the reset of variables doesn't do anything.

When I'm editing, it now states I currently have over 880 errors and doesn't work right now.

What I don't get is that it hasn't relied on these columns for awhile.  It appears upset I changed the list.

Most of my galleries still pull the data just like they should, but going to a screen where I populate the variables, it's a no can do.

Is there any resolution besides manually going in and maybe renaming the variables?  I'm afraid if I disconnect from a list and reconnect it will have an issue.  Most of my data is saved via patch and so there is only one form that directly connects

You need to refresh the Data Source after making changes to the list schema in SharePoint.

Interesting to know, I assumed it refreshed the Data Source list schema when I opened it.

I refreshed the 2 lists and I'm still getting the errors.  It eventually asks me if I want to save and reload because "Some variables and collections have been reset".  So, I do that....

I still have a ton of errors and then once again, asks me to save and reload - Even though I just did that.  To make sure I don't further mess things up, I'm not making any changes to the app, only changes I made were the columns that were removed from the lists.

I saved a copy of the app.  On the copied version I disconnected from one of the lists that I removed columns from.  Then I add that list back.  I published it.  When I play the app, it works great, but when editing it, it doesn't work correctly.  Does the server need to "refresh" or something like that?

    Thanks.

    1) No, it doesn't refresh the schema when you open the app.  It must be done manually.

    2) Use the App Checker screen to start looking at the errors.  When you refresh the data source it can make changes to forms or galleries based on the schema change.  That may be where the errors are coming from.

This will be a long road since I have close to 1000 errors.  Most of which appear to be errors that start with "Incompatible type..." when I look at the app checker

Having that many errors is discouraging to say the least 😕

I know some things I've fixed before suddenly fixed a whole bunch of other things, so hopefully that will happen.

Here is one of my galleries that open a problem by clicking the next button

Below it, I'm put the errors shown in the formula bar.  What's strange is if I simply edit the gallery, by copying and pasting that button, most of the errors go away and it will open the record.  When I save the app, close it out, and open it back up...All of my errors come back and I no longer can open the record.

What seems to be working (So far) is updating that variable name from varLMProj to varProj

I'm having to do that everywhere in the app that refers to that variable.

I've seen before variables just will not accept the change in their life, so you have to create new ones and then it solves the worlds problems 🙂
