Flow always triggers twice - "List Rows present in table" counts as modifying the file?

Hello,

I have a folder in a sharepoint site that contains a single Excel file. If that file is modifed, the flow below should copy any rows in the excel file to a sharepoint list. This works fine, but whenever the flow is triggered, it always runs a second time 5-6 minutes later. There are no other flows on the site. If you look at the output for the trigger on the extra time it ran, it always shows that I was the person who modified the file, even if I haven't touched the file all day. The first run correctly shows the name of the person who modified the file. My guess is that since I was the person who created the flow, it is somehow counting as modifying it when it runs the second time and records my info? It doesn't explain why this doens't create an infinite loop though. It always runs exactly twice.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

My flow always works well and don't have the issue that you mentioned.

Please check all your flows to see if you have any flow that would modify the file when the file is created in the sharepoint site.

    Best regards,

    Alice

    Hello,

There are no other flows on the site. I tried recreating the flow from scratch and it still has the same issue.

I think I found another piece of the puzzle. This only happens when the file is opened externally by Excel. If the file is opened online, it seems to trigger twice. However this isn't really a option for the process as is. I'm exploring work arounds, but this still seems like a bug.

I have a similar problem with a different trigger over a year later.  If I trigger my flow from my excel file within Teams or SharePoint, it only triggers once.  However, if I open the excel file in desktop app (even when I navigate away or close Teams and/or SharePoint) and trigger my flow, it triggers the flow twice.  I haven't been able to find any answers on this.

If you ever found any answers, please comment.  I would love to know how to solve this.
