Need help with an expression to extract 'first name' and 'last name' from 'full name' field in SP list

Hi,

I need help with an expression to extract 'first name' and 'last name' from 'full name' field in SP list.

I'm pushing data to another system which has two separate fields whereas I only have the one in my list.

Also, some 'last name's (even 'first name's) can have multiple words so I'm not sure if it's possible to handle this complexity with expressions or whether it's better to change my datasource to have those two fields separately.

Please advise.

Thank you.

Regards,

Daniel

    @Anonymous

You can add a compose a data operation and split by space

    split(sharepointcolumn,' ')

    First Name

    split(sharepointcolumn,' ')[0]

    Last Name

    split(sharepointcolumn,' ')[1]

    Hi @Anonymous,

Do you want to split the full name into last name and first name?

I think you could use the Get User ProfileV2.

    Hi Mira,

    Thanks. This works well.

Will it work for last names that have multiple words like "Van Halen"?

I'm going to test as well.

    Thank you again!

    Regards,

    Hi @v-qiaqi-msft ,

This is a great way to do this. I will keep this in mind when the scenario can work with this.

Unfortunately the people in the list aren't in AD in this case.

    Thank you again.

    Regards,

    Daniel
