HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?!?!?  another awesone undocumented feature of Microsoft PA.  It worked, now piss off!

How is one supposed to solve a problem when there are no clues?  Really frustrated.  We pay so much for the MS products and I get kicked in the teeth with this problem.

does anyone have any idea of why a create file would complete as successful and no file is created?

trigger is when row created.  I am the owner of everything that happens in my app

action: populate word template

action:  create file.  tried every location I can try.  all complete successfully no file found

color me pissed off at M$, again.

Providing us with some screenshots on your setup and results from a flow would help us figure out what is going wrong.  AS you point out its hard to theorize about what might be going wrong without some input.

In your create file what is the JSON definition of your dynamic content for the file content field?  I did a quick test and my dynamic content at that point looks different from yours.  Mine isn't Body.

The Json is body('Populate_a_Microsoft_Word_template') . Are you working off an old template and maybe have an outdated action?  My sample works as expected.

how does one know what version of PA actions and triggers one is using? AFAIK, I dont control that.

I selected the trigger and actions available to me.

I matched your changes and I still get "Successfully" and no file anywhere on my local.

are their any diagnostics that I can use?

some other way to create a pdf ?

Hmmmm, I changed the create file, file content to Microsoft Word document.  when I hover on the tool tip reads: "Body(Populate a Microsoft Word Template".

I save it, run it. no change in results.  Successfully and no file found on OneDrive or local.

The next time I edit the flow, the create file, file content shows: "Body".  Not sure what that means, but hey... it is more info.

You are correct, after saving and reopening the file it does change the Icon to say Body.  I'm not sure what else to suggest.  I've used the same steps as you and it works perfectly for me.  I don't see anything you are doing wrong.

My comment about using older actions was if you were working off an old template.  If you are picking the actions from the dialog then they are the current ones.

    two additional thoughts though.

    1) Its a long shot but are you sure you picked the Create file from OneDrive for Business and not just OneDrive?  If you used the OneDrive action it will create the file in your personal OneDrive, not OneDrive for Business.  So you would be looking for the file in the wrong place.

    2) You mention creating a PDF.  This will create a regular .DOCX file to create a PDF there are additional steps needed.  Are you expecting the output to be .PDF?  it won't be.  It will be .DOCX

Apologies to all for wasting your time.  This was an IATK error.  This is the first time I have used OneDrive (seriously).  I clicked on the OneDrive link in an explorer window and thought I was seeing OneDrive.  No!  That is incorrect, at least for my computer.   I had to go to the Start button, type "OneDrive" and open the OneDrive application.  A new window appears with little circles next to each filename and folder.  This is the LIVE OneDrive I guess.  Lo and behold my file was there.

Apologies to Mr Stork and many thanks for doing the diligence related to this matter.
