I have tried remove and removeif but it will not work because its not a collection. I have a gallery that displays items from the CDS entity. I can create new records but cannot remove them... Thanks!
Futher testing shows this actually does work as a button outside of a gallery. But when the button or icon is placed inside the gallery, the error above is shown.

@maverick17 Is the gallery tied directly to the datasource or is it tied to a collection?
If it's tied directly to the datasource, try putting the datasource in a disambiguation operator like [@'PP-Milestones Guided Work']
Remove([@'PP-Milestones Guided Work'], ThisItem)
If the gallery is tied to a collection, you have to use a LookUp function to target the specific row in the CDS Entity.
