Empty Data into Person Column

Thank you for considering this!  I have a forms question that's optional and if there is an input, which the user will be providing an email address of a user, to provide a claim of a person column in SharePoint List.  When left empty in the Create Item of my flow, it works fine, but I need it to know that if the forms question was left empty, to use nothing, and I know it works when there is an email provided.  When there is not an email provided in the form, it's giving an 400 error because the claim is not found/satisfied.

Expressions I've tried: if(empty(outputs('Get_response_details')), null, outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/re718908bcb744bf4888b2dc6d3a6b9fc'])

The Get response details of that optional Forms question is: @outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/re718908bcb744bf4888b2dc6d3a6b9fc']

    @apettit I believe you need to adjust your expression to this:

    if(empty(outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/re718908bcb744bf4888b2dc6d3a6b9fc'])), null, outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/re718908bcb744bf4888b2dc6d3a6b9fc'])

    You need to check if the response from the question is empty. In your original expression, you were checking if outputs('Get_response_details') was empty which will always be false.
