Is this possible? If so, can someone assist me on setting this up?
From what I can see from Microsoft you can not do that with a Shared Calendar. You do have the option to update at a 365 Group Calendar if that can working for you.

As @spsolutionsgrp was saying, currently it is not possible to create an event on Shared calendar.
