Populate an Excel file with Case details

 Hello Everyone,

I want to build a flow for Microsoft Dynamic 365Field service, but I need some guidance.
I have an Excel template that is stored on sharepoint.
I want to create a Excel file (from that template) when a case is created, and the populate that File with the details of the case. (Service Delivery => Cases)

But I have no idea how I can get the details of the case.
How can I get the data from that event (create case in Field Service) ?

Is this possible to automate?

    Hi,

Sounds like an interesting project, and it’s definitely possible to do.

I suggest starting with the Dataverse trigger “When a row is added, modified, or deleted.” If I’m not mistaken, Field Service uses Dataverse tables, so you can configure the correct table to trigger the flow whenever a new case is created in Field Service. This will give you all the information you require.

Then, use the SharePoint “Get file content” action to get the content of your Excel template stored in SharePoint. Use the “Create file” action to create a new Excel file in SharePoint using the content from the template.
Next, use the “Add a row into a table” action to add the quote details to the newly created Excel file. You’ll need to specify the file, table, and the data to be populated.

Finally, you can send the email with the Excel file attached using the Outlook connector. This is just a high-level design to give you an idea.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you need help with this project.
    Anthony
