Retriving details from Sharepoint list

Hi all!

Im doing up an approval flow, which would want it to retrieve the email address of the approval from the sharepoint list instead of me hardcoding it.

I could do it if its for one stage of approval, but when it comes to 2nd or more approval, it seems like the first approver gets the request again (which shouldnt be the case).

* Im also trying to resolve multiple approver response update, not sure if the flow is right?

Would really really appreciate your help!! Been stuck on these for days already 😞

Thank you!

What's the dynamic value or expression for approval 1 and approval 2 email?  I note you have two emails in the list.  Are you filtering on the title admin and admincd or using an integer to select the obect from the array [0] and [1] from get items?

I'm using Admin and AdminCD and using it to trigger the retrieval (Not sure if that's the best way to go about it?)

    Hi @shertech25

You've highlighted the update item action, which is updating the sharepoint item.  You will be getting the emails from the get items action at the start of your flow and then it looks like you are applying them to a variable - varApprover?  I've a video on addressing arrays which might be worth watching for this https://youtu.be/6nJSUNh579w.

Note that the approvalemail dynamic value you have inserted has created an apply to each.  This is because the results of the get items will be an array.  You need to filter the get items step, either by performing an odata filter on the get items for stage 1 and repeat again for 2, something like stage 1 title eq 'Admin' or by using a filter array where the title equals admin or admincd.  Your other option is to address object 1 and 2 by [0] or [1] in an expression - something you will see in the above video.

This will then limit the returned email to the email address of each stage.

If this post helps, then please consider Accept it as the solution to help the other members find it more quickly.
    Cheers,
    Damien

Yes, will be getting the email from Get items and to varApprover. Can i not have it written this way? Will the flow not detect for Admin and AdminCD whenever I change the Dept Value? So does that mean i need to have a new Get Items before every approval?

How about if i want to update multiple approver responses?
