Planned SPO metada update

Hi,

I am planning to update a metadata field in Sharepoint Online termstore but there are working flows already. So I am not sure if I change a metadata value in termstore, does it crash running flows? Do you have any experience on it?

Hi @hasannumanoglu
The issue that is explained is not in detail. But to answer your question based on my understandings, if you have used the values as a condition on the flow, they changing the value will break the condition and you may not be able to get the expected result.

Hi,

It is not in conditions but meta data values will be written back to other sharepoint lists. When I change the metadata, initial meta data which was retrieved at the beginning of the flow will be different than the actual metadata in Sharepoint. Not sure if I change the meta data label, does it also breaks down the meta data value in the background in Sharepoint. If it is then flow will fail since it can not write a meta data value into column since it is not in Sharepoint anymore…

Hi @hasannumanoglu ,

I'm afraid that your original flow may fail if you update the metadata column, and I suggest that you create update your flow from delete and re-add the responsible actions to prevent the flow from run failed.
