Power Automate Desktop save location

Hello to the forum,

today I installed the program "Power Automate Desktop".

After I create a new flow, this task needs to be saved. There is only the option to "save" and not "save as".

So my question is where is the save location for my flow? Is this file stored locally on my computer?

Neither under Programs nor under Documents I found a corresponding file....

Thanks a lot for the support!

    Hi @Anonymous

Your PADs are saved to PowerAutomate as a Desktop Flow but you edit it via the Desktop App.

The files for the flow are cached here:

    C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop\Console\Workspace

You can rename from the elipses within PAD Desktop Tool.

Yeah, I'm also wondering how you bring those back into the program from the file system....There's no import option it seems.

Are they text files. You should be able to recreate the flow (title only) and each subflow (title only). Then, copy and paste each subflow section of text into each respective subflow. This should get you back all your commands.

Thank you for weighing in. I am able to pull in the commands but all of the variables are missing...

    Hi all

I have done the same thing with the original post.

Installed PAD. Singed in PAD with my account X.

Via PAD I created a working flow .

Cannot see any PAD flow in my microsoft account X  >>>>>power automate --->>>in Desktop Flows tab .

Is there a synch issue between PAD and Microsoft power automate WEB ?

How to create a backup of my PAD?

    BR

My PAD flow is not seen in my power automate account. As if it was never created under my account.

If you made your PAD flow, under your account, I believe it requires the paid subscription to get it up into your online account.

If you created the PAD in a different account.  You can copy text files of each the Main and Subflows.  Simply select all actions in the subflow, and paste in a text file.  If you need to create these in a new PAD, you simply create the flow, create each subflow and paste the text (from your text file) into each respective subflow.  All commands and UI elements should transfer over.  If you used image recognition, and are trying to do it on a different computer, it won't be able to find the image file, so you will have to re-do the image recognition part of the flow.

    Best of luck!

I made the PAD flow under my account with subcription paid for Microsoft Office365 services (onedrive premium etc.)
