Calling an AI Builder model from other applications

Hello All,

I was wondering if it will be possible to call an AI Builder model from any other application rather than Flow or PowerApps. It could be interesting to call a Text Classification model or an Image Detector model, for example, from an Azure Function, a web application or a SharePoint Framework extension, to say some.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

    Hi Ferran,

    Thanks for posting this suggestion.

The way this can be achieved today is by building a flow that has an HTTP Request as a trigger, executes the AI Builder predict action and then returns the results of the predict action as an HTTP response as explained here: https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/call-flow-restapi/

You can then invoke that flow from an Azure Function or anywhere else that can generate an HTTP request.

    Hope this helps!

    Hello @JoeF-MSFT

First of all, sorry for my late response!

The idea you shared is the one I had in mind, but I am forced to use PowerAutomate and I didn't want to.

On the other hand, I realised that AI Builder is focused to be used by power users, so maybe it has no sense to be used from an Azure Funtion or any other kind of application (although I am still thinking it could be great!).

Anyway, thank you for your answer!

    Ferran
