Embedded Canvas App on Model-driven form stuck in wrong environment

Hi all,

I have a two-part problem. I have a canvas app embedded on a model-driven form, both app and form were created within a solution. The canvas app is a button that uses the Launch function to open a hierarchy view in the model-driven interface.

  1. When I migrate the solution, the app id does not update in the model-driven form. I worked around this by modifying the app id in the default solution after migration. This does not really make me happy.
  2. I also changed the url within the Launch function in an unmanaged solution so that it would not open the window in the source environment. However, even with these changes, it still does! For me, I have to refresh and hit the button more than once before it goes to the correct environment. For some users, the hierarchy view is stuck on "Loading..." because it is still using the source url (the Environment Maker is having this problem).

It is driving me mad. All users have security access to canvas app metadata, and myself (system admin) am also seeing this problem, although it resolves for me after a couple of refreshes. What is going on?

You can add these as environment variables in your solution so that when you migrate you can update the values on import.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!
