To export data from a table visual in Power BI, you have several options depending on your needs and permissions. Here's how you can do it:

Option 1: Export from Power BI Service (PowerBI.com)

    1. Go to your report in the Power BI Service.
    2. Click on the table visual you want to export.
    3. Click the ellipsis (...) in the top-right corner of the visual.
    4. Select “Export data”.
    5. Choose the format:
      • CSV (default)
      • Excel (if enabled by your admin)
    6. Click Export.

🔒 Note: Export options may be restricted by your Power BI admin or dataset settings (e.g., if the data is from a DirectQuery source).

Option 2: Export from Power BI Desktop

Power BI Desktop does not support direct export from visuals. However, you can:

    • Use DAX Studio to export data from a table or model.
    • Use “Copy Table” from the Data view:
      1. Go to the Data view.
      2. Right-click the table → Copy Table.
      3. Paste into Excel.

Option 3: Use Paginated Reports (for formatted tables)

If you need formatted tables with headers, consider using Paginated Reports in Power BI Report Builder:

    • Connect to your semantic model.
    • Design a table layout.
    • Export to Excel, PDF, etc.

Option 4: Use Power Automate to Export Data

You can automate export using Power Automate:

    • Trigger a flow from Power BI.
    • Use Power BI connector to get data.
    • Write to Excel or SharePoint.

In PBI Desktop, add a table visual with all the columns and filters you want. Then use the performance analyzer (Tools ribbon) to get the DAX query for the table. Now in Power Automate, you can use the action called Run a query against a dataset.

Publish your report then paste the DAX from PBI desktop performance analyzer in there and you'll get the same data when you run the flow. You can substitute filters in the DAX with dynamic content. The response is JSON which you can process in Power Automate just like data from SharePoint or anywhere else. Uses standard license in Power Automate and Pro license in Power BI.
