Hi all,

I am trying to build a custom form in Power Automate Desktop to display an image which located in my local drive. The URL was like this file:///C:/Users/xxxx/xxxxxx/xxxxxx/Image/airplane299.png. However, the preview form never shows me the picture and it neither work when I run the automation. I wonder if some one had experience how to fill in the URL field in this custom form designer imag

I have the same question (0)

    Try using this instead:

    C:/Users/xxxx/xxxxxx/xxxxxx/Image/airplane299.png

Please see this: Create custom forms - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn

"Store the URL in a variable earlier in the flow, escape the percentage characters , and then use that variable in the URL property. The preview won't show the image, but it will be shown during runtime."

Please check if it works during runtime, also worth testing if storing the file-path in a variable earlier in the flow which you can use in the URL field in the custom form designer.

If you are unsure how to do this, just use the Set variable action, give the variable a suitable name, and type the file-path in the value field.

I use a set variable action to pre-store the value and assign it to the URL field of image element. However, it did not come when I click it to running mode.

    Hi all,

I found this tutorial in Youtube Dialog windows and a new custom form dialog in Power Automate Desktop - YouTube which mentioned it is not able to use image in local drive as background of a custom form. It has to be a http or https link for image or URI data string and may conclude this topic

    Dear,

Have you found any solution? I am also facing the same issue.

Unfortunately, it looks it has to be a http/https URL to display an image in custom form. Local file does not work at this moment.

For small image, dataURL can be used.

    1. Use [Convert file to Base64] to encode an image file to Base64 encoding.
    2. Set variable as dataURL(e.g., dataimage/jpeg;base64,%Base64Text% ) using the [Set variable] action.
    3. Set the above variable in the URL property of the custom form.
