PAD Crashes (No Error Message) When Adding Action to Subflow

When editing a current subflow action (Launch Excel, Send email, etc) or adding an action to a subflow of a new flow, that flow disappears from the screen without an error message.  In the Task Manager, I have to end those tasks to be able to bring up PAD again.  I need to edit this flow but am now stuck.  Please, help.
