Bulk change footers in Word via flow

Hi All,

i have an extensive library of controlled QM documents. We have now revised the template for our QM-documents (affects mainly the footers) and I would like to change the footers in the existing documents via flow. Alternatively I could also live with copying everything but the footers into the new template if that were easier (or at all possible) without using Syntex. That way I could then copy the entire content of the new file back into the old one, effectively overwriting the old footer without breaking any links pointing to the documents.

Does anybody have an idea how to achieve this? I would hate having to manually copy paste the new footer into hundreds of documents (checking each one out before and then back in afterwards and approve).

Best regards

Here are some possible solutions that might help you:

    1. Using Power Automate: You can use Power Automate to bulk change footers in Word documents. You can create a flow that will update the footer of all the documents in your library. You can refer to this Power Platform Community post for more information.

    2. Using Macros: You can use macros to batch change headers and footers in Word documents. You can refer to this Microsoft Answers post for more information.

    3. Using VBA: You can use VBA to batch change headers and footers in Word documents. You can refer to this Stack Overflow post for more information.

    Dear DarmonGill,

thank you for your reply. Regarding option 1, the link you posted leads directly to this post. If the link which you intended to put actually has information on how to do it with PowerAutomate, I would be delighted if you could try again to share it. Otherwise, I guess, I'll try to go for the vba approach.

    Best regards,

    Till
