Edit document during approval process with versioning

Hi all,

I have a simple 2-step approval process. We need versioning turned on for quality reasons.

If approver 1 edits the document before approving, the flow continues however the document is never approved.

I believe this is because a new version is created and the flow references the old document version. However, we NEED to be able to edit documents without resubmitting the entire approval.

Any help would be much appreciated

Here's to hoping the almighty @Reza can be summoned

I have tried so many things and there are plenty of similar posts on the internet, however I can't find a solution.

    Hi @BurgerMan1 ,

I assume the trigger is 【When a file is created or modified (properties only)】

This flow is triggered when the user modifies the file。

Set a buffer time, if the user still needs to modify, it can be modified within these times。

If there is a modification, there will be a problem of version inconsistency, and the approval will not be sent.

Here is test for your reference:

Thanks for the response but it doesn't apply to my situation.

The process will be as follows:

    1. User 1 submits for approval
    2. Approver 1 makes an edit and then approves
    3. Approver 2 also makes an edit and then approves.
    4. Document is now approved.

I can't put a delay on it because the approvers could take a week to look at it.

    Hi @BurgerMan1 ,

    Could you please tell me:
Will the modification of Approver 1 affect Approver 2?

    If no,

    Please try:

Triggered when the user creates a file.

In order to avoid the approval timeout problem, please set the approval time here

Approver 2 needs to be linked to the document with approver 1's edit, so yes this edit will affect them.

Also I haven't experienced any time out issues... I just need approvers to edit the document without breaking the flow.
