Using Excel and Visio to generate flows on Power Automate

Hello, Everyone.

I've seen the very interesting video "Design and create business workflows automatically using Microsoft Excel, Flow and Visio" (https://youtu.be/4tB6o33NtAg) and I've tried to create a business flow in Power Automate following the same steps, but when I reach the step "Prepare to Export" I've received the message "At this time, you can only export BPMN Diagrams to the Power Automate".

I thought that I've following exactly the same video steps and I've restart the process step by step. I realized, then, that when I exported the sheet from Excel to Visio, it was generated a diagram using the "Basic Flowchart Shapes" Stencil, instead of "BPMN Shapes" Stencil as showned on video.

As the video procedures to export from Excel to Visio generated a diagram based on "BPMN Shapes" stencil, the only way would be create a new diagram from zero.

Did I do something wrong? Anyone faced the same problem? Can you help me to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Carlos Eduardo

    Hi,

Looking through your video and the steps here it seems like everything was done correctly. I've never seen this error before and I'm not certain where exactly the issue is occurring. Maybe this would be a better question for Microsoft Support. I'll include a link on creating a ticket with them if you would like to go down that route. Otherwise if any other communities members have seen this error before, feel free to chime in.

If you would like to create a ticket with Microsoft Customer Support here is a link on how to do so: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/get-help-support

    Regards,

Hi Alex, how are you? I hope this message finds you and your family healthy. Away from COVID-19.

I was repeating the export procedures to take some printscreens for you when I realize that I was missing a step. During the export process to Visio, I didn't pay attention to the step 4, where I should choose the BPMN stencil and link shapes to the fields. The BPMN Stencil doesn't appear by default as on youtube video. That was the reason that I couldn't generate the flow.

I'm very sorry to waste your time because my fault, but I couldn't find it without your reply. Thank you very much for your time and your help.

    Regards,

    Carlos Eduardo
