When a group member is added or removed

I have created a flow to monitor certain a group. The flow works fine, I get the email that the user was added/removed from the group.

But now I am trying to add what administrator added/removed the user from the group.

I've read that I need to use the Get user profile (V2), adding that in gives me the user that was added/removed, not the administrator that added/removed.

in the email:

I get: USER was added to GROUP by USER

I want: USER was added to GROUP by ADMINISTRATOR

    Hi @jharris3,

Unfortunately, the outputs of that specific trigger action does not contain that (added or removed by user) information.

However a workaround could be to interact with Microsoft Purview for this. That product has audit log events for this, like the Added member to group. That activity should show who has added the member to the group: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/audit-log-activities?source=recommendations&view=o365-worldwide#azure-ad-group-administration-activities

There are example on the internet how to integrate with those logs within Power Automate. For example Leon Armston has a three-part blog series about this:
