"Requested By" shows submitter name, but "Created By" shows my name in Approval Email

Approval emails being sent out for some reason are showing my name under "Created by".

I've got the "Requestor" set as the created by email, but as you can see in the email it says the user has requested, but it was created by me.

How can I change this to not show my email anywhere in the approval email?

    Hi @rsparks,

I would add a Get Items action on the item that is being approved, and then inspect the body of data that gets returned to see if that matches what you expect.  If that doesn't yield results, can you please hover over the Created by email data and post a screen shot of what is there?  Sometime a mixup like this is as simple as having picked the Created by email from the incorrect action in the Dynamic Content window.

    Take care!

    Hi @rsparks,

There is no way to remove or change the created by if you add the requestor.

It will display the information of the Flow Owner (the information of the user who send the approval).

There is an Idea has the same requirement, you can head to vote it, maybe it will come true in the future:

    Hi @AKRogers

Here is the "created by email" property being used:

    1.PNG

All of the "created by email" instances are consistent, they're all using the Get Item data. In the original post, you can see the "Requested For" section shows the correct email, it just for whatever reason adds in Created By showing my name.

Is it simply a setting that I can just switch off? Like some sort of auditing/receipt type feature?

@v-litu-msft If I take away the Requestor, it simply displays "Created by (me)" which looks even worse.

Why is it that if User 1 send an approval request to User 2, it shows my name? I have nothing to do with the process, I simply created the form and flow.

Is there any way I can remove my name?

    Hi @rsparks,

Because when you perform the Approval action in Flow, the approval source will be regarded as Flow Owner, so the approval sender will display as you.

If you add the requestor, it will appear the requestor, but it also will appear the Approval creator.

Am I able to change the flow owner to a shared inbox, or generic company email that isn't my name? To do so would I have to remake the flow using that account?

    Hi @rsparks,

Yes, you can export your Flow to company email account, or create a new Flow use company email. Then the approval email source will be company.

    Hi @rsparks,

Before remaking your Flow, try switching the credentials used in the Flow to a generic/service/company account.  You'll have to change the credentials at every step where credentials are used, such as with the Approval and any other Send Email or Get data type of action.  You should be able to change the context of who creates the Approval simply by changing the credentials.

    Best,

    Ashley

@AKRogers  How do I go about switching credentials on each step? Is that done through the "My connections" section seen within the options drop down on each flow step?
