PDF font issue and page breaks

Hello,

I am struggling with the pdf function. I want to print a pdf report from a digital canvas form.

Two issues occured:

1) characters are not printed correctly, various gaps between

2) How can I take control for page breaks. E.g. when a title is isolated from its body. Title at the bottom, its body on the next page.

but more worse when a line is cut ...:-(

or images are broken...

I use containers for print control.

Thanks, Klaus

    Hi @BHS_KI

    Character Rendering:
The built-in PDF conversion sometimes struggles with character rendering, leading to gaps and inconsistencies.
Consider using third-party connectors like Encodian, which provide better support for PDF generation.
    Page Breaks:
Unfortunately, PowerApps doesn’t directly support explicit page breaks.
A temporary workaround is adjusting the margins to zero:

    PDF(Screen1, {
    ExpandContainers: true,
    Size: "A4",
    Margin: "0,0,0,0",
    Orientation: "Portrait"
    })

This might help until Microsoft incorporates a more robust page break feature.
    Images and Line Breaks:
Ensure that images are properly embedded and that line breaks are handled within your containers.
Experiment with different container layouts to minimize issues.
Remember that while PowerApps has limitations, exploring third-party connectors or custom solutions might provide better results.

    Hello,

I really appreciate your answer because many features suck in PowerApps and there is not help from MS. They just mark it as preview or experimental and then the story is done. This is not customer friendly.

For Encodian as a third-party solution I tried to ask them already but they are not able to read a normal outlook mail with embedded pics. So what can I expect there. The videos from them are also not helpful. I don't  want to merge pdfs or build html or word doc before. So I tried to ask.

I would not have a problem to use a third-party tool. Do you have any other tools to recommend for creating pdfs within PowerApps or at least from a SharePoint list?

    Hi @BHS_KI

    Word Document Template Method:
Design a Word document template with placeholders for your data.
Use Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) to fill in the template and convert it to PDF.
Benefits: Headers, footers, and page numbers are supported, and text/images won’t be cut off at page breaks.
Drawbacks: The Word Online connector is a premium feature, and repeating sections with images require HTML.

    Third-Party Services or Plugins:
Consider using third-party tools like “PDF Generator” or “Muhimbi PDF Converter.”
These services can integrate Power Apps data into existing PDF or Word documents.

    Thanks,

the photo gallery is a handicap and has technical size limitations. Therefore Word is not the right target I guess.

I will check the other tool. Thanks.

In your link it has been said first step is to convert everything to html. But that is not my way. I have already my layout in PowerApps done.
Is there not third-party tool available that can handle my Container to pdf correctly? The way sounds so complicated. That can never be a final solution. The whole approach feels wrongly, even when it might work.
