Hello!
I have created a flow that uses 5 sequential approvals in a workflow. However, the flow times out if not completed in 30 days. Does anybody have a solution to how to re trigger or restart the flow automatically when it times out??

    Hi @kmack55

For how long do you want the flow to run? You can change the time out settings on the approval actions by clicking the ... on the action and then settings and change the timeout settings:

    Hope this Helps!

    Hi @kmack55,

You can add the other approve under the original approve, and then Configure run after, set the configuration as should run after the last approve has timed out.

If so, the maximum approval waiting time will be extended from 30 days to 60 days, if you want longer, you can add more same operations.Annotation 2019-06-13 152129.png

In addition, you use 5 sequential approvals in your flow, I don't understand why you're taking so long to get approval on that basis. But you can still implement it, you can nest that structure in an apply to each, just like the screenshot as below:

Until then, you need to store your approver in the SharePoint list.

You can have a try with it. If there is any problem, please contact us.

I need the flow running for longer than 30 days. Right now I have all 5 approvals in the same flow. So for example if the flow gets held up at approved 3 and day 30 passes the entire flow times out. What does changing that duration do? If I change the duration to 100 days does it allow the entire flow to run for 100 days before timing out?

Or do I need to set each approval step duration to 30 days. And therefore the timeout of the whole flow would equal 150 days (5x30 = 150). I’ve been under the impression that no matter how many days you set the duration too the flow will always time out after 30 days...

    Hi @kmack55,

The maximum duration is the default of 30 days, even if you don't set it, but can't exceed 30 days, you can refer to this document #run-duration-and-retention.

So if you want to extend your approval time, you can only set up another approval.
