Data entry from Excel to Salesforce

Hello everyone!
I'm completely new to automation and PAD and I'm trying automate a really manual task we have at work.
Briefly, to pay our contractors we need to set up their accounts on a payment platform. For each one of them we are assigned a task on Salesforce. We take the given information (Name, email, UniqueCode etc.) and we use it to generate a unique registration link that we need to paste again in Salesforce in order to close the task.
Currently, I have an excel table with all the information for each contractor and the links we generated for each of them. Now I need to paste all of these links in the corresponding field of SF. How can I automate this process?

This is what I started doing, but I got stuck because I can't retrieve the name or the code of the contractor from SF web page to then use in my if condition and make sure the link I'm pasting is pasted to the correct contractor line.

I hope someone will be able to help me:(

Hi @Kova13  I hope you are doing well.

To extract the name or the code from Sales Force you need to use the action Get Details of elements on the Web Page. This action will help extract single values from the Web.

If it’s from a window app, use the action Get Details of the Ui element in Window. Again, this action will help extract only 1 single value from the window.

Then, to fill the window or the web you need to use the action Populate Text Field on the Web OR Populate Text Field in Window.

So at least you will need 3 Populate action for the Name, email and UniqueCode.

Please let me know if it works, happy automation!,

I was able to extract the name, thank you very much!
Maybe you can help me with something else if I'm not asking too much.
Once I extracted the name of the contractor I need to find it in the excel file/table and retrieve the corresponding link (something like an xlookup in excel). Any idea on how I can do this?

Hi @Kova13  I hope you are doing well.

Yes sure, look what you need to use is the For Each Action, but first you need to Read the Excel file, so the process so far goes like this:

    1. Get Details from Sales Force, this will generate a variable named %AttributeValue%
    2. Now, Read the whole table from Excel, this will generate a variable named %ExcelData%
    3. At this point, you have to use the For Each Action, into this action you will use the %ExcelData% variable and in every loop, the whole row will be contained into the %CurrentItem% variable.
    4. Now, use an If action to validate if the %CurrentItem% variable contains the %AttributeValue% variable, if yes DO something, else continue, or exit Loop, etc.
