Powerapp and Excel

I have my app created. It is connected to an excel file. Its supposed to be used to the guys out on the field to be able to log their time into an excel sheet, however when I enter data into the app it does not translate back to the table on the excel file.

How do I make this happen?

If you use the "Import from Excel" option (shown below), then the contents of the table in the excel file are copied into your app. At that point there's no connection back to the Excel file, and any modifications that you do on that collection are local only.

If you want to be able to modify an Excel file, you need to store it in a place that can be shared, such as Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. If you add a connection to the file via those file storage services, then the modifications that are done in the app are written back to the file.

Is there anyway that I can have them input data into the app and have it save all in one place?

If you connect to an excel file in a share location (e.g., OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive), then all data will be saved in a single place - updates to the data source in PowerApps will be saved to the file in that location.

Hi @Proway

You have to use Dynamic DataSource, just like @CarlosFigueira mentioned.,
Save your Excel in DropBox (fastest response in 5 sec) oe OneDrive or GoogleDrive.
1. From PowerApps, get it connected to your, say Dropbox (it will direct you to Website and sign in with your credential)
2. Then, move your excel file into Dropbox. (Latest Update: Excel fil does not need to be in a folder, and then share to other Dropbox. Just additional info)
3. Finally, when you are in PowerApps, and select View - DataSource - DropBox - ExcelFILEYOUNEED - you can see TABLES (which is already formatted in your excel file).

From here, you can now enter data as in the cloud.
