updating the file name

Hi all,

I am new to Power Automate and need help renaming an Excel file based on extracted data. I am using the "Run script" action to extract the data from the Excel file. Below is a screenshot of my flow.

I want to rename the script.xlsx file with the extracted data name. However, when I run the flow, I get an error saying, "The resource you are attempting to access is locked." I also tried adding a 1-minute delay, but it did not help.

Please guide me on how to resolve this issue.

Thank you.

    Hi,

Either 1) make it a 5-10 minute delay or you may have to pull a trick

    1) create a sharepoint list (if you can). You just need to store the path to the file, the current name and the new name
    2) in this flow (above me that you showed us) add a record there, just before you terminate the flow.
    3) In the new flow, make it trigger when a new item is created in that list
    4) put a delay in like 1-3 minutes (you may not need this so keep it on the backburner)
    5) The trigger will give you the file name, the path and the new name you created in flow 1
    6) do your rename in this flow.

    Done.

I believe I put the update within a Loop Until based on the error. So, just infinitely attempt to change the property, and eventually it will resolve. You could also add a max number of attempts variable to control it.
