Transfer data from Word to Excel using PAD

I don't seem to be able to extract the content in the table cell of a word document using Ui Element. Somehow it extracted the cell name, "Data Item "Table Cell".  I am using Version: 2.6.48.21069.

Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Thank you for responding.

    Yes, I have tried that.

I follow the steps in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ_KpBC8fwo&t=1769s but I don't get the red box with Edit. This is what I getThis is what I getFrom the videoFrom the video

Your screenshot shows that PAD has identified the cell and you have selected it with Ctrl. That's it. The label of the red box can be different and doesn't really matter in this case. The action should output the value of the cell, doesn't it?

No, it doesn't capture the value of the cell. I get "Table Cell" instead of "12846" in the example below.

Works fine for me with the sample documents, I'm getting the "Edit" elements.

Beware that those documents contain form fields ("Edit"). The same thing doesn't work with cells just filled with text ("DataItem"). The later seems to be a limitation of PAD with the Microsoft UI Automation Framework, works fine with UiPath.

    Noted. Thank you very much.

For regular table cells you can click on the element, send Pos1 key, hold Shift key while sending End key, then send Ctrl+C. As a alternative 😂

Or click the upper left corner of the Word cell then send Ctrl+C you can get the content. I found a solution of this question https://youtu.be/q_apiOC7uBI

I tried this but it fails every few times. It doesn't seem to be a robust solution for this problem.

Is there a way to convert it? So far the files I'm trying to work on contain only DataItem fields and I can't find a working solution.
