Can I embed a variable within a variable?

I'm working on streamlining some flows that use Excel and Outlook connector (Send an email V2). I'd like to define the email body as a variable in an Excel table but the email body also currently contains other variables. I'm not sure if what I want to do is possible. I've tried formatting the embedded variables to no avail.

Is this possible?

    HI , @suemv

Can you show me a sample you want to get in your flow?

    Best Regards,

    Hi @v-yueyun-msft

Thanks for replying. As an example, I'm trying to put the footer content in an Excel table and just call the Footer variable. For the most part it works! However, there's a variable in the Footer variable that doesn't render. 😑

I've tried using the percentage symbols (%var% or %%var%%) and nothing works. Is this just another limitation from the outlook connector? I can't be the only one who's tried to use a variable within a variable, right?🤣

Correct! The variable within the footer variable just shows up as jibberish. Let's say it's a year or date. It appears as %%'whatever'&&. It doesn't matter which quotation marks or how many % I use or their sequence in the string, it's not working.

To be clear, the footer as a whole renders fine. It's just the embedded variable that's not working.

I just checked outlook online. It shows the same results.

This is what it looks like if I just copy the code for the footer from the body pane and put it in an Excel table. The copyright is already a defined variable. For this example, I didn't add any % or ' to the var_Year variable.

    Hi @suemv

doesn't seems like a bug- i have tried something simmilar - like embedding a year in a footer variable like below

    Nived_Nambiar_0-1719515912826.png

And using this footer in a send email like below

    Nived_Nambiar_1-1719516023064.png

    Nived_Nambiar_2-1719516044313.png

And the mail looks like this-

    Nived_Nambiar_3-1719516084548.png

Let me know if it is something simmilar what you are trying to do, if not- tell me what changes were there ?

    Thanks & Regards,

I have the footer variable and the year variable. I can't embed the year variable in the footer variable. I'm trying to reuse the footer across various flows by storing the content in an Excel table. Unfortunately, the year variable just shows up as code as seen previously.
