Ownership of flows created in an organization

Hi Flow users,

I know this topic is discussed for a while now, but I'm yet to find a definite answer to it.

Question- When an user creates a Flow in an organization and leaves, what happens?

Answer-

1. I created a Flow Admin account and assigned it a Business Premium license.  UserA creates the flow and adds me as an Owner.  I assign the Flow Admin permissions to that SP site/library.  Finally, I add the Flow Admin as an owner to the Flow and change the SP credentials on the Flow to the Flow Admins.

Above from this thread

2. Can we just create a Team workflow and update the connection if it makes use of the departing user's ID.

Which is the best practice of the 2?

Regards,

Kevin

I agree, it would be much easier to simply add an additional user or users as onwers.  If the individual who created the Flow leaves the organization, another one of the owners can simply update the connection info.

The disadvantage to using the Flow admin account is that is burns an O365 license.

The advantage is that I believe that you are able to leverage a single premium license across multiple Flow developers because you are using the Admins credentials on the connections and the admin has a premium license.

I don't believe that there is anything approaching a "best practice" on this yet - do what ever works.  I suspect that the Flow team is working on a better way of managing Flow ownership.

Please note that the link you have in your post does not appear to be working.
