I'm running into an issue with desktop Outlook where the approval email doesn't display the actionable message functionality. I've started in safe mode and it still didn't work. I uninstalled and then installed Office and that did nothing. It doens't seem to be working for other users either when they use my demo approval flow. The functionality does work correctly if I use Outlook on the web, but just not in the desktop version of Outlook.
Oddly, I had a service account provisioned recently and the functionality works just fine for that account in the desktop version. I'm wondering if there is some setting that is different for the newly provisioned account versus accounts that have been active for some time. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
I'm having the same issue and can't get rid of this...
Somehow I also facing the same problem. Previously it works fine. but now it doesn't.
This only affect on Outlook Desktop. The Actionable Message still works in OWA.
I have reinstall my Outlook Desktop to
Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2110 Build 16.0.14527.20234) 64-bit
but the problem still persist.
Is There any workaround for this?
Hi - did anyone get this resolved? I'm getting similar issues - the Approve and Reject, plus comments work ok in the Desktop app, but links don't open at all - but they do using Outlook Online.
The links in the original message, not the actionable message do work ok.
cheers,
Tom
Did you ever figure this out? I can get the test messages from the playground to appear in Outlook on the Web, however; they show up blank in the full Outlook client (using ProPlus monthly channel). I'm really at a loss as to why it wouldn't render in the latest version of Outlook.
@v-bacao-msft Could this be due to where the account is provisioned? My original account is very likely provisioned on-prem whereas the newly provisioned account was provisioned in Office365 cloud.
Hello, @v-bacao-msft . I'm using Office 365 Pro Plus v.1902, Build 11328.20368. When I log in with the newly provisioned service account on this same machine (which is using the same Office install of course), the actionable messages work no problem. For the trouble account in question, I started in safe mode, created a new Outlook profile and even went so far as to turn off all add-ins, but nothing has worked yet.
This is making me think it has something to do with account settings and not specifically related to Outlook? I've read other posts where users are having the same issue as me, so it doesn't seem to be a one-off issue.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Please show us the version of outlook client which you are using.
Actionable messages are available to all customer mailboxes on Exchange Online in Office 365 with a supported client.
This is the table lists the availability of actionable messages for current Outlook clients, please check it:
