Anyone could you please help me to create a log file in power automate desktop.
Use Write text to file or Write to CSV file to create a log file. Put it into a subflow that you call whenever you want to log something.
Also, depending on what you want to log, you might also want to get a timestamp using Get current date time and include that into the log.
I aligned with @Agnius' response. In addition to the "Write to CSV file" option, we can utilize the Log message action to log any details. If you prefer a separate file, you can also use an "Excel file/SharePoint list" or even you create your own custom logging mechanism using "custom action SDK" for logging flow processing details.
Log message does not create a log file. It logs the message into the flow run action details in the cloud, which is pretty much useless, as it will get lost within all the other logs. Also, it is a premium feature.
@Agnius - I completely agree. That's why I suggested utilizing the log message action to capture any details and provided alternative options if the user prefers separate log files. Your point resonates with me. Additionally, I've heard from some sources that if we use the log message action, only the last 10K records are displayed in the Power Automate portal. Is that correct?
